At 6 Acres, the Zuccaro family combines classic winemaking practices and environmentally sustainable principles to create a range of unique, handcrafted wines.
Situated with a picturesque vantage point at the tip of the southern Yarra Valley, the north-facing 6 Acres vineyard benefits from rich volcanic soil and enjoys a cool climate, 250 metres above sea level.
When Bartolomeo and Assunta Zuccaro immigrated to Victoria from the fertile, remote Aeolian island Filicudi in the 1950s, they brought passion for sharing good food and wine with family and friends. They have passed these values on to their son, 6 Acres chief winemaker Ralph.
Ralph, in turn, has instilled a love of great wine and exceptional attention to detail in his son, winemaker and scientist Aaron, and together they have worked for the last decade to transform a hobby farm into a thriving business.
For Ralph and Aaron, the first priority is growing and sourcing the best local fruit, to create red and white wines with great character and warmth that are guaranteed to become household fixtures after the first taste.
